Nah, it's about favouring bad programming practices, not thinking about the architecture of the software and giving developer experience a bigger role than end user experience. All these stemming from a push to get to market earlier or

Huh wasn't aware of that. Nice. About the performance question, during the frag shader phase neighbouring pixels are already being tracked, so calling those is almost free. It would be difficult to match that performance when already o

A human can also use the same tools if it wasn't for the rules or fair play. They should've simply redone the test.

You can manipulate texture coordinate derivatives in order to just sample a subset of the whole texture on a pixel shader and only shade those pixels (basically the same as mipmapping, but you can have the "window" wherever you wa

Yeah mods of an instance have the power to do so for the sake of their users (in their view at least). Your comment also implies their actions affect all other instances just by seldomly doing this action. Which isn't the case. We can

It doesn't matter what instance you choose. An instance is a group, who is part of a bigger group. But yeah, the majority of people won't ever understand that. And, in all honesty, that's fine. Really, I'm cool with just

Well, Ubuntu isn't really a good project to look up upon :) Hell, their latest upgrade broke one of their flavours. Not to mention how fragile their installer is.

Not necessarily. It could start by using diamond's IOR, and use that to dictate a common brdf calculation. Along with some approximate refraction, perhaps using a equirectangular projected sphere map or something for the background.

Other than C#, there is no reason to use those other languages for game dev. Unless the game is fairly simple, or you want to risk a fairly long project by employing a language that hasn't been proven in tge space yet (Rust). No shade

I'm still surprised by people everyday, after all these years. This is one of those times. Crazy how anyone would ever want a single point of identifying everything you do.

No single explanation works for most. That's why you need multiple ways to explain things and how the standard education system fails at disseminating information.

Artists usually prefer quads, but it really depends on what they're doing. It's also not unusual for them to willingly create a model of mostly quads with tris in the mix at the same time. In the end, the representation of a quad

From my own experience the alternatives are fine as long as the distro maintainers put on the effort to make them work. I've used Devuan and others with runit, sysV, s6 and openrc. And honestly, openrc is the better alternative from an
