Purely anecdotal but in my mind, one of the biggest barriers would be public sentiment? I remember when Lime launched here in New Zealand and suddenly, all of these scooters appeared on the footpaths. Over time, they would go from nice, nea

As a slightly unrelated note, how do these sort of databases actually get bootstrapped? I imagine as you get up and running, you'd end up with industry contacts, access to industry data sources and so on but I'd be interested to k

Has anyone had any luck with SteamVR and the HTC Vive? I tried Proton a few times, was hugely impressed but the one pain point remaining is that I can never seem to get the headset to work properly I play a fair bit of Beat Saber so it kind

I enjoyed the talk about scaling Pokemon GO + migrating from DBshards to Aurora PostgreSQL which went into what they tried, what failed and what succeeded rather than just saying "We used X service and it was great" I couldn'

I remember attending a talk about speeding up web UIs once and it got to Q&A time. I’d read some article about how if you respond too quickly, users can begin to doubt that any work is really being performed, and I’ve experienced that f

Thanks! I'm actually moving to a Windows environment for development shortly so this is handy to know. I'll likely just use pass via WSL2 but I might give gpg4win a shot too

Ah yup yup, that is true. For some reason, I always have this idea that it's pulling and decrypting everything. Gotta remind myself that computers are actually fast and decryption can happen on the fly :)
