I wish I had a link to review this but I don't think that's the case. As I recall, Netflix published data showing that there wasn't actually a bandwidth problem and they offered to upgrade the equipment. They've ended up

They can be done by hand but doing them algorithmically usually involves working around machine limitations or figuring out a non trivial algorithm to reduce the runtime complexity to something that will run in seconds rather than days.

I'm always confused when stories like these are spun as a "strong debut" rather than saying Box left a lot of value on the table. Why do we care more about the people who've held the stock for < 1 day than the capital

I put on headphones if I want quiet. What I really need to get away from is flowdock/hipchat/etc... invading my screen. That kills my flow worse than anything else.

The difference is people go to jail for robbing banks. This is a serious crime and sound markets are hugely valuable but I start to agree that we should throw out the laws if they aren't being enforced. It would make the markets more e

I seriously doubt the wisdom of a CEO who is willing to go from 70 to 100 programmers in one morning. What's he going to do after lunch?

I'd consider the _biggest_ problem to be invading Iraq under false pretenses. We've destroyed millions of lives because we tortured people until they told us what Dick Cheney wanted to hear. Yes, we love our children more than Ira

With your companies 401k or equivalent. Just put whatever percentage you want into a low cost, broad index fund. The most important part is to make this allocation before your paycheck gets cut (i.e. you never see the money).
