Even Hitler was smart enough to burn books, not just the card catalogue.

How does this differ from building plugins? Excel already has a programming interface and I'm pretty sure you can script Sheets with python. Is it just easier?

Great answer. This also wastes the least amount of your time if they are not serious. It's much better to work on your company than waste time on deals that are all smoke and mirrors.

that's a stretch. if the intent is to create a sarcastic nick-name that compares the ceo to a dictator, "chairman pao" is going to be a front-runner not because pao and mao are both chinese but because pao and mao are only 1

Uh oh. I created an "unsubscribe" filter a while ago to get rid of spam. It's been great for keeping my inbox clean but I just don't see stuff with an unsubscribe line anymore.

+1 for a common tool chain. It's really nice when you don't have to spend 1/2 the day figuring out someone's setup to help them fix a bug.

That's so sad. I don't know what we expect from our jails but it's pretty plain that it either hardens or breaks people.

I think you misunderstand the problem. If you can afford to buy your way out of jail, you have a much easier time awaiting your trial. This isn't about plea-bargains vs trials, it's about properly setting bail so that everyone has

I hope that's the ultimate outcome. I'd be OK if we allow copyrighting of APIs as long as using those APIs falls under fair-use.

So you admit that there was copying. /s But, in all seriousness, the 9 lines + 7 files are damning. It also shows that the engineers who implemented Google's project had been tainted by exposure to Java.

The problem is that our system is incredibly racist and classist. Here's an example of a teenager who spent 3 years at Ryker's Island before his trial: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/10/06&#x

Someone has always built what you're building. The only real question is do you know who they are. It's actually a great exercise to find the last founder (or two) who tried to execute your idea and figure out why they failed. Ver

This case is why I believe it's pointless to try to protect your privacy: even if you just withdraw < $10,000 to avoid notice, you've committed a crime. But, if you withdraw more than $10k all the time (then deposit it back in)

There is a good reason not to have a product: if you have a product, the smart money will sit back and watch what the product does. But, if you need money to complete a product, the investor knows what the funding is for and has no option t

If you want an index, use an index: for (1 = 65; i <= 90; i++){...} It's not like the syntax is that bad. But, iterators are simpler than indexing a collection. Iterators work with data structures like linked lists where yo

As others have pointed out, the semantics are pretty hard to deal with. But, it's the style that I think is the really bad part of this snippet. Why would you create an array of empty elements to iterate over just to grab the index? In
