It makes less sense for open source. Ember would have to pay $30k a month to archive slack. But, all the Ember devs are on slack and irc is a grave yard. Imo, having logs makes irc demonstrably better.

One of the interesting side-effects of Sen. Fienstien's quest to keep high-rises out of San Francisco is that _all_ real estate is more expensive. There are many people here with similarly narrow ideas about how to protect what is &quo

Have you built an app that does this? I'm interested in what the overhead is in setting it up vs. Ember's fast-boot.

Please don't get discouraged. People might have misunderstood what you meant. There's also the problem with asking other people to spend their time and money on your request. If you want this to happen, you should provide a proof

The agents working those machines and implementing the security protocol see that. And, they treat you differently.

The difference is that Hicky is good at marketing. His lectures are awesome and he has made himself the leader of the immutability movement. That hasn't happened to lisp before.

I can't stand that you can buy your way out of security with this status. Real security doesn't work like that.

I think your being downvoted because the techies on hn are concerned with security, not ownership. Apple complying with the government makes everyone less secure. We aren't as worried about judicial over reach as we are with creating t

Is this a typical workflow for statistical analysis? The choice of go and mariadb seemed unique to me and I was wondering what others were using.

Why are there so many reddit clones? Reddit doesn't make money. Imgur, on the other hand, is printing cash by selling ad space. But, no one is trying to move into their market. I just don't understand why people are going after a

Florida was not within the margin of error in 2000. The number of people who were denied their right to vote would have made it a clear win for Gore. From the Rights Commission's report: > The Commission's hearings spotlighted

Try to avoid concepts like "fair" and "unfair" when dealing with the market. I think this correction is an over-reaction to the guidance and the stock looks like a good buy to me right now.

It's funny, I was just regretting the latest OSX update that I made. My MacBook Pro (work laptop) is 2 years old and was great when I first set up my dev environment. Now, I need to restart every couple of days. I should spend some tim

My cousin died of a Fentanyl overdose last year. This is the worst part of the criminalization of drugs, IMO. If heroine weren't criminalized, I'm sure my cousin would have gotten actual heroine instead of fentanyl -- which you ha
