I don't see what this has to do with Zoomers, to be honest. If we're going to bring up generations, I'm a millennial who basically grew up on IRC and vBulletin forums. In fact, I'm still a fairly active participant in IR

This may have already been discussed. But, if Musk is being honest and this has to do with blocking efforts to scrape content for ML/AI models, then why not block IP ranges from the most common compute services (i.e. aws, gce, digital

On mobile it's really a hassle now. I was in an app that wouldn't let me decide how to open a tweet link. So it kept opening the tweet in a web view, where I'm not logged in. The usual "open in twitter" banner with

I notice it the most when I'm just trying to find a place whose name I can't quite recall, but I know where it's located. Usually hole in the wall or other lesser known spots. I'll literally zoom in as far as I can on th

Google Maps has arguably gotten worse. Many times businesses that don't pay to be listed either won't show up on the map/in search or at best show up basically last. I also live in the Bay Area and sometimes I feel like the G

Maybe on HN the majority of people have those modern cars, but I assure you in the real world the odds are not that good.

I ended up on a random bus in Sapporo once and it was the only public transportation without English signage or announcements in multiple trips to Japan using multiple public transportation systems.

I've made several lifelong friends on Reddit from a small subreddit for a sports team. Sure there's a lot of bad with Reddit but there's also good in there if you try to look for it. Which you could say about nearly anything

The Athletic (sports news publication) pretty much did this exact thing. Originally marketed that you'll pay for a subscription so you don't get ads, and now for the last year or so they've added multiple ads in every article

Heh, that's fair. I read it as being something OP would be interested in getting if not for the hassle. FWIW here in the southbay it's already pretty easy to blow $30-40 on an average, not even amazing, large pizza.
