> Off leash even, I have always wanted to give my dog the most freedom possible. To heck with human rules. All it takes is one time to ruin that for you and probably other people too.

I've tried travel eSIMs (Ubigi) on a couple of trips to Japan. In my experience compared to when I've gone and used physical SIMs, the reception and coverage wasn't nearly as good. Just super random neighborhoods and areas wh

If driving, not everyone wants to have to search for the buttons to do that, accidentally skip too far ahead, have to go back a step or two, etc.

I have in the past but they weren't much of a help. Allergy scratch test results didn't correlate at all. They referred me to a throat doctor to make sure it wasn't anything in my digestive system. So ended up doing an endosc

For curiosity sake, curious if the tree nut allergy here was typical reactions (hives, nose, etc.)? I have a tree nut "allergy" but doctors always call it more of a "hypersensitivity" because my reactions are usually inv

In baseball too, you have things like playing in LA or NY vs playing in Denver with thin atmosphere that completely affects movement of pitches as well as how well they fly through the air.

I don't think Slack (or similar) should be a primary alert mechanism. But, if alarms are configured in a clean way, ideally your team is getting some warnings and such there and then if there's an alert that needs to actually page

I once heard about a feature dogfooding invite that was sent out specifically for people with babies because they wanted to use Alexa always-listening to activate when a baby was crying and automatically order diapers or something ridiculou

6. Companies using CS have no testing to verify that new updates won't break anything. Any SWE job I've worked over my entire career, nothing is deployed with new versions of dependencies without testing them against a staging env

While I'm usually a proponent of update waves like that, I know some teams can get loose with the idea if they determine the update isn't worth that kind of carefulness. Not saying CS doesn't care enough but what may be a min

Some of the email themselves have ads too. For instance the latest one for me has a Chase banking ad.

I think the RAW photo size is the constraint here. If I'm out shooting an event or something it's not uncommon for me to get 500-1000 frames. Multiply that by say 50MB each and that's a huge chunk of data at least for some ce

As someone whose current team process is Kanban and a previous team were also, tech debt like this still inevitably piles up. Sure maybe you can squeeze some time in but even getting a week to spend solely on cleanup is rare, if it comes up

I think the key is using them in an open space away from people and where you can have some measure of safety. My friends would use theirs in an uninhabited valley off a ridge.

That reminds me of playing games like Gran Turismo, where I start leaning left and right depending on how I'm steering in the game. Interesting that you get a similar effect but with your breathing in Subnautica.

I think that's definitely part of it. Two roles ago my team was invested heavily in SQS and Kinesis. The role before that and my current role are pretty heavy with Kafka still. I wouldn't call their use super interesting, though.

Interesting. Earlier this year I migrated passwords out of 1Password and a few from LastPass and Apple Keychain supported both easily. Just not more complex types of credentials. Every password and website was imported correctly as expected
