We use it as a joke name for functions/modules that are deprecated or dangerous, or that otherwise should be avoided. It works pretty well even though it's (probably) an empty threat.

On the contrary, I normally see Closure code written with prototypes in a very OO style.

We added some more tests for server rendering (which Fiber doesn't yet support). Working on it though.

It sounds like maybe they renamed it to be a feature in "FogBugz Dev Hub": http://www.fogcreek.com/fogbugz/devhub

Sorry you're not enjoying your job. In general, it sounds like you enjoy smaller places and a larger variety of work where you have more ownership over your work. I'd guess you might be happy at a startup of < 20 people and the

ComponentKit is open source and a lot of the Facebook app is built on it.

Curious: why is JSX on web worse than on native? And if you're overwhelmed by React "plugins", we certainly suggest you not use them. Most of them are just components you can write yourself.

Were you using many other libraries? We try to keep React itself pretty simple and recommend you start with that.

As someone who was involved in speaker selection, I agree. We'll keep pushing on this and hopefully do better next year.

Thanks for the reply! Just to check: At that link I see a "To see more from KSEE24 News on Facebook, log in or create an account." dialog which has a "Not Now" link that mostly collapses the dialog. Do you see the same t

Yes, I agree that the "Sign Up for Facebook" box is annoying. That's not my wheelhouse and not something I'm likely to have success changing. If, however, public content gives a forced login dialog, that sounds more like

I work at Facebook. Can you provide another example link for something that's "public" but you can't access? Most public content is accessible without an account.

Thanks for replying! Our official tutorial was actually exactly that for _years_, but it didn't seem to help much. I get the sentiment though and maybe we can find another way to make it work.

create-react-app is our recommended way to build simple React apps (and some complex ones). It has no configuration and is designed to be very easy to set up. (My understanding is that Vue templates also need to be compiled -- is that incor

When teams at Facebook roll out features or rewrites like this, they almost always monitor performance metrics so I'm comfortable claiming that React Native is unlikely to be responsible for slowness you've seen recently.

I would not expect any of these error messages to show up in a production build unless it was misconfigured (which it unfortunately sounds like the Instagram build was based on these reports).

I'll add that we use RN in our production apps and are building it for ourselves but never used Parse in the same way.
