I was kinda thinking more along the lines (ahem) of reporting on drug policy and harm reduction, and in challenging shitty tabloid journalism on drugs. Some older examples: - https://www.vice.com/en/article/ppvgw8&

They were really good for drugs coverage, and I mean that beyond the "New York Hipster smoking weed 100 times a day" comment someone else made here. Max Daly's probably the best drug reporter out there, and was the main reaso

This is a beautiful project. It's useful, aesthetically pleasing, and based on a clever methodology. Absolutely love it. Great work.

Whilst nice and settled now, I've had a pretty patchy history largely as a function of the sector I used to work in. That said, doing recruiting, I tend to look at the longest stretch. If someone's not chalked up 1.5ish years in o

These sorts of claims tend to appear on the lowest quality CVs I've reviewed, often with suspiciously round and large numbers that suggested guess work.

I don't disagree that YouTube would be better off away from Google, nor that it's a monopoly, but in terms of content it is magnificent. Vintage films, tutorials for the most niche practices, 4K videos of exotic locations, a bette

I'm all for it continuing, but it always struck me as wild how you can just pick a UK SIM up at the airport from a vending machine. I don't know of many countries where this is possible.

The analogy I'm currently favouring when talking to semi technical people is that LLMs are a map. We map words and phrases to a coordinate space. We can use GPS to locate anything down to a sliding scale of decimal precision. There are

I dunno about variance in Nepo-Carlsen. Game six was brutal, a cat playing with its food. I think it's fair to say Carlsen outclasses Nepo.

Honestly, I think this is just fine. We know Carlsen is the best [1], but as someone who's been casually following for a while now, I found this series of games far more fun to watch. It's great for the game. A new challenger will

It's been a brilliant tournament, absolutely fantastic to follow. Genuinely gripping, exciting stuff with incredible games and lines. Carlsen did us all a favour by stepping back. I don't think the rest of the pack are too far beh

That's smart, and there's so many very simple ways I could go about implementing that. Nice one, I might give that a go.

Not a tech project, but made my first batch of wine this year. Was immense fun, and just about drinkable.

Not nearly as cool, but related. I've been using yolo to pull bird frames from a GoPro left running by the bird feeder.

There's a note which suggests you might be able to get by on lower. My 3060 struggles with SD on the defaults, but works fine with float16. There are multiple ways to speed up the inference time and lower the memory consumption even m

It was a flippant but sincere defence of MDMA as a drug for hanging out with your mates. Naturally, not applicable in all cases, but I guess my point is you can get a lot of benefit in that context.

OK, fair point. In my head it was a fairly big tilde. I don't think it's a terrible start, but yes, of course, YMMV and one should never go doing such things without a bit of reading about.

I think we just don't take enough time to talk properly and you know, get to understand how the other person is feeling. Communication is so important in a relationship.

Only recreational. I've taken MDMA many times in my life and -- presumably like most people who have -- can see why it's got therapeutic potential. Honestly though, I'm not convinced about it in a clinical setting, unless the

The oobabooga setup feels a lot more mature and has a larger community. Skimming OP's repo, there seems like a lot of fiddling and faffing with JSON to get things running. Nice stuff all the same.
