I really hope Cuomo didn't give Amazon huge tax breaks for coming to NY. Frankly Amazon needs NYC more than we need them. NYC is a boom town at the moment with a lot of jobs and skilled professionals moving in. Since 2010 the populatio

Well their job (The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency[1]) by law is to regulate banks for systemic risk. Recall that this same government bailed out the banks due to systemic risks. JP Morgan is then participating in risky activitie

Yeah that isn't sufficient. Most people are going to get their email rejected or spam filtered from many sources. Having an IP that is not blacklisted is not sufficient to have it have enough reputation to be accepted by large provider

It depends on whom you send to. Like ironically I sent an abuse complaint to Verizon for a spammer and got rejected because they blocked all of Digital Ocean's IP space. Yahoo was particularly difficult too sending me a response saying

You can send email from an EC2 instance but good luck getting anyone to accept it. A lot of email providers block EC2 wholesale, or if they do accept it you are going to have to have a long standing reputation.

If you are proxying the content with a VPN with a static IP on an EC2 instance you cannot police people sending out spam as you cannot see and meter the SMTP traffic. So does everyone get a dedicated instance and IP? If that is the case peo

The Strange Loop videos are in the process of being uploaded still. There are a lot that deserve a look. I was there at this talk as well. This is one of the most diverse and high level conferences out there. https://www.youtube.

If one was able to convert it directly to 1 USD immediately then yes it would be a super easy arbitrage and the price of Tether would never fluctuate from 1 USD more than very small amounts (which would be arbitraged and restored) The probl

Yes agreed. I am just saying this is an example of the FAA yielding a bit to make things a bit less complicated for those wishing to fly up there. My general argument is giving FAA control of all airspace from the ground up in such a large

At 400ft with a glide slope of 20:1 you are at 0ft in ~1.5 miles. You'd probably hit something else in a mile or less that is far more substantial than a drone at a lot greater probability.

Ok then I suppose we should trim all trees to 50ft or less and ban structures that high, and exclude all birds from the skies there because an aircraft might be on a near crash unpowered approach. Also at that point, hitting a small drone i

I didn't say we should just barge in and make things unsafe. I am saying that we should have a discussion about whether it is needed or not to have <400ft AGL 4.5 miles outside an airport controlled as it is probably unnecessary. Th

The class B restriction is draconian and unnecessary. I live about 4 miles from an airport (Class B). The B zone is 5miles. There has never been an aircraft I have ever seen 400ft over my house, and if they were making a 4 mile <400 ft

I am actually surprised the FAA was so tolerant of drones for so long. Commercial drone operators are for more regulation because they know the day some dope flies a drone into an approaching aircraft it will cause more draconian responses.

I actually have 2 Yubikeys, one with me, one in a safe place. But the price of these keeps rising. $50/$60 is starting to get a bit unreasonable for something that you were able to buy 2 or 3 of for the same price a few years back.
