Funny, isn't this the same company everyone was predicting would #fail because it was "just another clone of Twitter" but for companies? Well, while they still could fail, they're getting away from that the longer they're alive...

There's prior art with "virtual currency" going back as long as the eyes can see. Even stupid old DOS Blackjack games where you got a virtual $500 to bet with is easily considered a form of virtual currency. This is why we need a public for

Google pays plenty in taxes... in the form of payroll taxes and employing thousands of people. Their "effective" tax rate is significantly higher than 2%+ quoted here. People forget that corporate income tax is the last resort of taxes afte

As a co-founder of Poll Everywhere, you might do your homework first before publicly humiliating yourself demonstrating a lack of basic background research and fact-checking. Poll Everywhere is in no way a spam operation whatsoever.

I think this is a very common problem in any business. If I want to start a restaurant, and I'm a "business guy" I could maybe try to find a "chef" co-founder, which many people obviously do when they start restaurants, however if I know li

Yeah, definitely over-estimate. And do so based on your confidence (and ill-confidence) of the overall effort. Generally speaking, the larger the project may be, the more likely a small error in estimation results in a huge problem later on

Probably whatever the guy who originally sold it for. It's like the millions of other domain names that get bought or traded everyday. To know, perhaps 10 years in advance, that the next buyer is going to turn it into a $500M+ valued busine

It just depends. If the profit towards the end of the year isn't too bad, it's possible to pay as much of that out as possible as a bonus to founders and/or employees. Obviously, the company pays taxes on the wages (state/federal/medicare/e

Seriously? There's even concern over whether startups "work as hard" Silicon Valley ones? If that's where they're at, then there is almost no hope? The concept "working hard" is just ingrained in entrepreneurship. If you don't work hard, wo
