Even worse is other tools that rely on Github, like Homebrew (Mac OS X package manager) which breaks in various silly ways when Github is down. Anyone happen to know a way around this specifically? Trying to install some stuff and brew just

Streaming TV and movies has got to be the most boring thing you can do with a Raspberry Pi, at least after letting it sit in the box in a drawer.

Your comment really hit a nerve with me, probably because I'm the same age as the OP and playing around with programming language implementations is a bit of a hobby for me, so I'll apologize for my reaction ahead of time, I tried to tone d

That's actually exactly what I was trying to point out. It may be significant practically, or might not, and definitely would be if you were really washing the dishes ;) But in terms of big Oh, they're the same. If you assume that all of th

Sorry if I've misread your example, but I think this isn't quite correct. While the "batch" method of dish-washing (washing all at once, then drying all at once) is probably more convenient and efficient for humans, if you were to formalize

Could you elaborate on this? I would agree with "Haskell is not an ML" but I think the MLs (SML, OCaml, Mythryl, F#) are close to Haskell, and closer to Haskell than to other programming languages, certainly closer than to Scala. Haskell

No, I haven't, but does it add more to ML than a bunch of syntax changes? It looks like an attempt to make ML more palatable to programmers familiar with C and Java. I skimmed the docs on that site and saw that it does have ML-style modules

The first edition of PLAI has a nice introductory chapter on types that explains this notation and has a whole section on type inference. It's also freely available online, so that's nice. (chapter 10 is on types) I haven't looked at the se
