For the jmp instruction, both source and destination are the rip register. That other thing is an immediate value. Really jmp is just mov or add, with the rip register. Like so: movq somelabel, %rip addq somelabel-%rip, %rip

2-sided is a great idea. It would cut down the noise. Put a washable pre-filter on the intake, and a disposable HEPA filter on the output. What about fit though, with the homegrown solution? Is that a square foot of tape to fill the gaps? C

This dispute could be a matter of frequency range. Older ears can't hear high pitch. If the Dyson noise is mostly high pitch, older ears will perceive it as quieter.

How it could happen: Pump sizes can do 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, or 1280 units. Sometimes the water needs more chemicals. Maybe today it needs 10, but typical is 30, and it could go to 100. That's just the water rate for winter th

NaOH raised from 0.01% to 1.11% That seems to be a pH 13.4 result. There probably isn't much in the water to buffer that.

Nearly all aircraft have that problem with the tail. A major exception is aircraft with an inverted V tail, like the Lazair ultralight and the MQ-1 Predator drone. Another exception is the flying wing, like the B-2 Spirit, but that certainl

There are plenty of people who drive classic cars built from 1950 to 1975. Some people drive even older cars. I once saw a Ford T stopped at a 7-11 to buy gasoline. Will that Tesla S be the same in 2045 to 2090, or even in 2120? It's l

There was a winning move: When you want two dozen eggs, but you can only bring a single egg, choose ostrich. If each of the two dozen boys would like 3 normal eggs, they can share 3 ostrich eggs. Since each boy can bring one egg, 8 such mea

Some are already rich. Many get rich for unknown reasons while in office for decades. Hmmm. The pay is terrible for that level of responsibility and power, so rampant corruption is to be expected.

I guess that makes sense, after deleting the positive reviews and the app itself and the developer account. Keeping a fraudulent app around is pretty bad.

There are debuggers that nicely handle real-time with "many threads, many hosts, many replicas of the same service". If you don't mind paying, Concurrent has stuff for it: NightView, NightSim, NightTrace https://ww

The A-10 is not such an easy kill. 1. Take a good look at the tail in relation to the engines. From most angles, the engine exhaust is hidden from the ground. The A-10 is flown with an undulating motion that will break a heat-seeking lock.

I too have been paid to write DSP code, and autotools would not have helped. You can't run m4, perl, sh, or make on the DSP. Cross-compiling with autotools is far more difficult than cross-compiling with a simple little Makefile.
