Perhaps I didn't get my point across adequately enough then, hacking is awesome, it should be encouraged and supported. However complaining that a school does what it does best, stifling the creative and curious mind, is silly. We can

Came in to reply similarly, the rules and rights of students in school are not what children want them to be. Ignorant staff or not, the best way to get through school is to play by the rules. If you want to change those rules, you have to

My stance has been to take a more static view of an applications development life cycle. So you're on an Angular 1.x app, Angular 2 is coming out in a year, your project will be launched or is already launched and you're concerned

The speed of light is just a clever hack for rendering performance much like binary space partitioning made the rendering of our own early 3D worlds performance good enough to enjoy.

I'd love to have something like Jekyll that just makes my existing setup static, and I can just regenerate it when I want. So my Wordpress site becomes static, sure I'll have to fix a couple of things, comments going to a differen

Just read through the thread again and I really enjoyed your comments. I just wanted to say they were well thought out and you've given me the impression you know your stuff, or are knowledgable enough to form an opinion. I am neither

That is really cool, I've never heard of the Principle of Charity, I usually said it was just assuming the best of people. I like that quite a bit.

It isn't cool to point the racism finger anywhere, but how would you describe that? If I was to say that I was uncomfortable working in a group of opposite gendered difference raced folks who were already a clique before I joined in, t

I had a fairly similar feeling. I've been giving it some thought about why, at least personally, I like to connect with my team, play games together, send jokes, look at new tech toys. I realized that, for myself at least, my work grou

Is there a 'too late' to get into finance? I might have to change my focus. All this JavaScript and Objective-C can stay a hobby.

I guess this would become circular because I'm not well enough informed. Because if the dollar value goes up, the startup costs are less. The argument to wait for the money value to increase applies to the entrepreneur in this case too

So assuming consumption doesn't increase in step with deflation, you'd have to give employees pay cuts. That would be very strange indeed.

This is based on feelings and not fact, just the response to what I've read in this post, and these comments. Your insights make me feel that a deflationary economy might be better, we're always running, rushing, we can't sto

I understand the position I think, we're balancing the Empire State building on the tip. You'll get plenty of folks suggesting that is why gold backed money was better. Heck, that is why we are FDIC insured up to $250k, that cover

I think I follow, but if my $1 today is worth $1.10 in a year, deflation, at 0% interest, that is still 10% more value year to year for the bank making the loan. So $360 of money at the end of a 30 year loan, $1 per month, is worth $2,171.3

Such a hard thing to reason out in my non-economist brain. The idea that people won't spend money today because something may be cheaper in the future is bad? That sounds really close to saving money instead of spending it. Many of us

Really interesting situation, and very frustrating that none of the rare blood donors costs can be paid for by hospitals. Seems like there should be some loop hole to get them compensated.

How about all the languages a programmer 'speaks' does knowing how to code in a dozen different languages help? I'd like to think so. I keep flopping between what second language to choose, Spanish, German or Japanese.
