Shouldn’t this distro require little management?

You need to reproduce the bug to know if your fix works. Not always but that’s how most teams operate. Particularly because you typically won’t pass review without some tangible improvement.

Plenty of companies have corrupt, inefficient groups of employees without unions though.

The thing with Linux is that it’s extremely fragmented. We could be running totally different setups from both a hardware and a software perspective. When using Linux i’ve regularly encountered the “it just works” argument and then been dis

This hasn’t been my experience on Linux. The nvidia drivers appear to “just work” but actually caused a lot of instability. My desktop no longer crashes every other day (or more often when gaming) since switching to an AMD GPU.

To be fair a lot of California students get a free education. I moved to California as a poor teenager. I became a resident and then had all of my costs (minus housing) covered during both community and state college. I never thought someth

I like the style here a lot more than the low-res pixel art approach of the OP. Thanks for sharing this. :)

https://join-lemmy.org/apps this page lists various Lemmy interfaces. I've just joined the mlem testflight and it's decent. It also seems to be improving quite quickly now that people are flooding to Lemmy.

The burden of proof is on you though. If you think you can do it better then do it. It's ridiculous to post a dismissal without even watching the full video.

I really don't think you can claim that the solution is suboptimal. Kaze has clearly spent a lot of time on this and has a real code to show for it. You're just theorizing that it's bad without providing any real evidence.

I wish Netflix would produce more of its niche shows. There are so many shows with diehard fans that Netflix produces a season or two of and then cancels.

I think people read it as damage control because you're trying to address the feedback while arguing that you guys aren't wrong. That's pretty typical damage control behavior these days.

Submissions are supposed to predict and handle issues that you guys have had in production? That doesn't seem very reasonable for a 2 hour task. I wonder if your hiring process is skewed by the perfectionists who spend tens of hours of

Interesting. I guess I'm just curious if they accept the losses or have figured out a way to make it much more efficient.

Isn’t there major energy loss from wireless transmission? It’s negligible when charging a phone but it seems like a big problem for EVs.

I did a fly hiring project and was simply told I wasn’t good enough to move on. Zero explanation as to why. I found it very frustrating too.

I see what you're saying. It just seems odd to say that fly.io is considering posting less because HN users are expecting too much or too critical. Surely HN isn't the only source of traffic to your blogs, right? I love fly.io and

It's strange that you would even ask. HN comments are notoriously critical and the standard for good content shifts extremely quickly around here. Why should Fly.io get a pass when nobody else does?

Why is charging money for the app sketchy? If users are willing to pay for the app then clearly it’s providing real value to them. As long it’s clear to the user that they could get the experience for free by visiting the website I don’t se

I haven’t heard of any big companies switching away from DataDog. They have a product that is both genuinely valuable and very sticky. Once you’re in it’s hard to get out and they know that.

The pi4's GPU at least supports OpenGL ES 3.1 and Vulkan 1.2 now. That's decent even if not powerful.
