This reminds me of the world cup in South Africa, where the spectators used vuvuzelas to make a unique sound that I found hard to endure. I figured it would be easy to use a notch filter to remove it, but I could never find a way to impleme

Sounds like local contrast adjustment. There are several different ways of solving it, here's a couple that look like they work pretty well: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63251089/how-to-do-a-loc... ht

I thought that the main disadvantage with flying wings for passenger traffic was that any kind of roll is made much worse the further you get from the main roll axis, so turbulence etc becomes more uncomfortable in the wing part.

Anker has a power bank with integrated charger[0], or charger with built in power bank. Don't think it's made to be used as a UPS, but maybe it can be. > Inline USB ultracapacitor banks seem like a reasonable product too though

One of my favorite features in Google Photos is the map view. I often can't remember when I took a photo, but know where it was. Open the map, navigate to where I took it, and there it is. I consider it a must have for a photo manager

I sometimes end up on pages that I can't scroll. It turns out some pages show a sticky div with a cookie consent dialog, and uBlock has removed it but left the overflow: hidden on the body tag that the site owner found necessary to put

Columns that you have to scroll like that is not user friendly, their height needs to be limited to less than the window height.

Why not limit the height of the columns so they fit on the screen, and wrap around to new columns lower down? So when you reach the end of the rightmost column, you scroll down the page and continue reading at the leftmost column. I've

Newspapers use columns for the same reason, to not get too wide lines. Unfortunately I don't think I've ever seen a site use columns, even though CSS supports it. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/

The last time I looked into it Blender's ROCm support seemed like a special case with support from AMD. I don't know if that's what it is, every time I try to get a handle on AMD's compute offering I get dizzy. There

It should be noted that AMD's ROCm doesn't work on most consumer gaming GPUs, unlike CUDA, and doesn't work on Windows. So it's not a good choice if you're writing software for end users where you can't control

The sad thing is that $2k barely gets you a carbon frame with low end components now. A mid tier bike is maybe $5k, and high end can easily be more than $10k. Personally I really don't get why anyone would pay $10k for a bike. Amateurs

If most people are there just to finish then comfort should be more important than speed. In that case big tires and more relaxed geometry makes perfect sense.

Ok, maybe bringing everything into the global namespace is a bit of a stretch, but you could at least do the most common ones. Who's going to alias cout or string? As for std::get, while it's a separate issue I think the problem t

According to this list[0] some Samsung Galaxy S20 does support it, as does the Pixel 5 (and 4 and 6). Google also lists both models as having L5 support[1]. Of course the best way of knowing if your phone supports it is to test it yourself.
