A great deal of being a good teacher is being able to excite and motivate students. This goes from kindergarten through at least undergrad. And it applies across the socioeconomic spectrum.

I think general computer literacy is important for everyone nowadays. One complication I see is that it is a long way from the general to the applicable with computers, and the applicable is somewhat arbitrary and changes quickly. As a cont

Why do you need the if? Shouldn't the while loop run zero times if have_posts() returns NULL or an empty array?

Which frankly, baffles me. I see it at the supermarket, right? Next to the other fashion magazines and it also looks like a fashion magazine? So I'm not contesting the truth that it sometimes has serious heavyweights writing for it, I'm jus

The Y2K issue was at least explainable to non-techs. Storing two digits is ambiguous. Simple enough. This one, though, no one is going to understand.

I am very ignorant here. Do you know if putting your 401K money into passively managed index funds typically results in higher fees than if you invested in similar accounts outside your 401K? That is, can you escape having extra fees inside

Everything you say rings true to me. However, the notion of "well rounded and compassionate because that's what it takes" makes me feel a little queasy.

My experience makes me think otherwise. I didn't attend an elite university, but visited friends that did. I saw a disproportionate number of gifted and extremely hard working people. More so than at my college, which itself was highly rank

I'm talking black box QA. Input is suspect identified. Output is that inside 24 hours they had him alive. Every particular possible outcome has some set of strategy changes that, in retrospect, would have made apprehension quicker. But this

Something to consider: it worked. It would still be presumptuous, but at least a little less misdirected, to Monday-morning-quarterback a team that lost the game.

However, is there an underlying truth at Valve, that if he wanted to, Newell could fire everyone on the spot? I have no idea if that is true, and if so, don't necessary think such an arrangement is bad. But if that is the case, it needs to
