I think one of the primary benefits to ELM, etc is the typechecking, which you lose if you use FFI to call outside JS. Once you dont need jquery and you actually have a standard library, 2 of the largest requirements to the existing ecosyst

Not advocating for suicide but playing devils advocate... I would imagine that bank robbers the moment they get caught instantly regret it. But that doesn't prevent the ones that got away from completing their goal and not regretting i

I'm not saying that suicide isn't associated with mental health, but when I read this I got a vague feeling of a tautology. If we define the components of mental illness as being suicidal, obviously that would lead you to classify

I was on Tmobile for 3 years and I would say it is a budget carrier through and through. You don't go to it because it has good signal, good customer service, will work on road trips, etc. You get it because its cheaper than the rest.

I think the difference is, when you called someone in the 90s to ask to say borrow a cup of sugar: Call neighbor. 1 minute of small talk Ask the question Get answer more small talk. Say goodbye. Today it would be (via txt):

Yeah. When Apple claims to have invented something, they don't mean that they invented the very first instance of it, they mean that they invented a practical and transformative consumer implementation, which depending on who you are c

Is it really "easy credit"? My coworker just got done with getting a mortgage in San Mateo and it really seemed like a long drawn out processes with significant hurdles in terms of paperwork and documentation along with a requirem

Most have the barber come to them or have a private barber in the building. My office has a separate room and a barber comes in every other week to cut hair.

My experience with groupon involves two different times. Both times involved me calling the business and being immediately asked if I had a Groupon. I don't think this was a groupon only number, but the business pretty much runs entire

To be fair the commit time and the authorship time are not the same. You can author something at work and wait to get home to commit it and vice versa.

I'm in the opposite camp. I don't like NoSQL because of the flexible schema. I have to build tools to make sure my data is consistent or have error handling. Migrations ensure that whenever I pull down a version of the code, the d

Thats a false dichotomy. There have always been fiber providers, its just that Google Fiber is the "sexy" one that people look to for salvation instead of locally campaigning for fiber (which has been successful in quite a number

San Francisco Bay is at the top of the startup scene. There is nowhere else were you will find the number of investors or resources (meetups, groups, talent, funding circuits, etc.) I'm from Chicago and while the startup scene there is

This x100. I hate these interviews as one of the first exercises. More than once over the years I have spent 5+ hours doing a coding exercise for a company only to get a one sentence response, telling me that my "code fell short".
