While the feature-set isn't the best, I find their simple UI to be a breath of fresh air and easy to navigate.

I'm sure the number of Steam Decks is far higher than the number of people gaming on their Mac.

My mother-in-law gifted me a Wallstreet that she used in the 90s. I was almost tempted to buy a spot welder to build my own PRAM battery for it since at the time I looked there were no aftermarket ones available.

Not sure about the Mac Classic, but I've found that 75hz or higher refresh rates reduces eye strain on CRTs. I was able to achieve that with the Powermac 7200 all-in-one recently (though albeit at a lower resolution)

I used this theme for awhile but I kept running into visual bugs that caused certain applications to not render at all, and as a recent parent I just decided that tinkering with desktop / window manager constantly just wasn't wort

I’m someone who has a large FLAC collection and an obsession with my private music tracker. I do it because of an obsession of collecting music, but modern streaming is “good enough” for 99% of cases. And unlike video streaming platforms, m

What does “complexity” even mean here? Is modern music any less complex than “I Want to Hold Your Hand”?

Not denying your sources' facts, but I would be careful to extrapolate any long term (decades-plus) over population shifts during the pandemic.

While I agree NYC has problems, I'm going to guess Louis Rossmann wasn't alive in the 1970s and probably didn't remember the 80s very well either in NYC. It's nowhere near the dumpster it used to be.

My wife just got one straight out of her PhD, but it's not super common unless you're 1) very cutthroat competitive and 2) willing to move far (in our case, 5 hours from the Bay Area).

I can only speak from the hiring side: I've been working at the same large-ish enterprise company in the Bay Area for 9 years out of college. Up until this year, it was nearly impossible to hire anybody qualified. We are now drowning i

I don't know if there was an update, but one of the main issues I had was that my TV supports 4K, and the steam deck would natively try to select 4K in big picture mode, except that it would default to 30hz because that's what my

I bought one with low expectations, but it has surpassed them tremendously. Proton is most of the way there. In fact, most of the issues I find with some games are the third-party launchers, not the games themselves. The EmuDeck project all

As another commenter said, bike fit is very important, especially to mitigate overuse injuries (don't be like me!). Beyond that I have found my $400 mish-mash of mid-2000s mid-range road parts attached to a $90 aluminum Nashbar frame t

I was looking at an old video card I have, the GeForce 4600ti, and remembering thinking it was _huge_ at the time compared to my Voodoo 3 3000 before it. Then the 8800gt seemed huge. Then the RX480. Then my current 3070. At a certain point
