My fiancé is Jewish and pro-BDS. Maybe I live in the leftist-Jewish bubble, but there is quite a bit of political divide in the Jewish community right now over Israel. Criticism of Israel for a long time in the Jewish community, and still t

I think cross-platform development is a lot easier as well, especially with mature tools available for developers. (Unity, UE4, MonoGame, etc) I use Linux, Windows, and Mac regularly in my everyday life, and most of the games I play are ava

Two things killed Mac gaming in my mind: the almost extinction of Apple itself in the mid-to-late 90s, as well as the rise of 3D accelerated games on PC in the late 90s. Macintosh couldn't keep up in both price or performance. I grew u

I think the classification has less to do with the technology itself, but rather boils down to the fact that enterprise software is hard to switch internally as an employer because of red tape. If I'm a 50,000-employee company and have

That's what I mean -- they're trying to be consoles artificially. Vive has the Steam platform, Oculus has theirs.

I went to UCSC from 2010-2014. One of the most amazing experiences. The town itself is riddled with problems -- many people either love it or hate it. It's infrastructure cannot handle it's popularity. I would argue it's hous

Oculus / Vive / PSVR are all "consoles" in a way, and that as competition becomes more and more fierce, profitability on hardware will go down over time. By staying a closed platform, if Oculus can deliver on their hardw

The real question is: if this information about the link between health and playing football becomes more widespread, will people stop playing? People certainly wouldn't stop watching due to the culture that you describe, but I assume

I think that it hurts the GOP more than it directly helps Democrats. In my mind a sudden large increase in voter turnout may give sway to candidates running as Democrats that may not be totally in line with the DNC as a whole. You're s

I agree, I bought Civ 5 about a year ago on sale with all expansions and DLC for a small penny. Vanilla Civ 5 feels like an incomplete game with zero replay value. I'll most likely pick up Civ 6 in five years.

If I understand correctly, the money isn't printed -- it's redistributed. The money supply isn't increasing, but it could be that money is more likely to be spent in the short term than sitting in a bank somewhere.

The OnHub router has one SSID, but two BSSIDs that account for each frequency band. Unfortunately, some devices (such as iPhones) cannot choose one over the other, so I have been turning off 2.4Ghz in this case.

I tried OnHub, but unfortunately it didn't have the option to force 5Ghz over 2.4Ghz for devices without going through some hacks. Where I live, 2.4Ghz wireless has 10% packet loss on average, no matter which router I use. I'm hap
