Valid point. Afaict, vpns I've used route all network activity regardless of phone state, but that's likely dependant on the service.

A VPN obfuscates this. Assuming a target is even remotely aware, you might think they are in Australia, while they're actually in Nova Scotia

If under-representation is because of preference and not discrimination, then there is no problem to be solved. I work in a wood shop with a bunch of men. It's a physical job, but there's no reason a woman couldn't do it, but

I got off a road bike onto a mountain because I feel I have more control. A motorist plowing me from behind on the highway is something I can't control. How fast or cautious I ride is in my control. It does help to be familiar with wha

I don't see this trend as generational though. There are just as many boomers as zoomers glued to their phones.

TSA does not do border control, and in fact border control is usually relatively fast compared to being re-screened through security (TSA). Edit: It's convenient if you are a digital native, but elderly folks, among others, will not fi

I wouldn't qualify standing in a line as endless misery... Regardless, I have global entry so I do appreciate the desire to skip a line, but I don't follow how 100% digitization solves the need for checkpoints completely. It just

I draw a different conclusion from your analogy though. One should continue to plant those seeds of friendship wherever you are. Friendship is not zero sum. "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today

But there currently isn't a problem with physical passports. They work! Why introduce new problems? I was bike touring and wasn't carrying a phone. Isn't that allowed?

Or... Canada! I've biked from Montana into Alberta and the border crossing was in the middle of forest in the middle of nowhere. Definitely no reception or wifi there.

Yes, but... I used to discover great new (to me) artists on Spotify. Now I'm pigeon holed by "the algorithm", to the point where when I start a new playlist based on an artist or song it's 90% songs already in my liked l

You similarly reduced all Americans to a stereotype with this comment. If you get your idea of Americans from internet discourse, you may come away with this impression, but it's a shallow view of a diverse country.

As I said. It's not about efficiency. Knock (pre-ignition) will destroy an engine. I have a naturally aspirated infinity, but with compression ratio around 13:1 it calls for premium. Believe me I wouldn't pay for it if it wasn

High compression engines require high octane to avoid knock. It's not about performance. An engine with a turbo or super charger will always need higher octane fuel.

There was an influx of less than savory characters after reddit censorship of some unfortunate subs, but I don't think voat was created for "bad actors", which is why OP's question is relevant.
