I cut up broken trees as a volunteer emergency responder. I'm always fascinated by these puzzles, in that every tree is different in species, condition and nature of the fault. The aim is to make the tree safe for the public by getting

Your bank/financial institution should be able to do this at least from a bank account to a bank account. I have "pull" payments for organisations I'm ok with and "push" for others. The only issue I have is the

Should be titled differently, all of the least viewed articles are now going to be viewed, lots. I'm really having trouble myself not visiting them. Mind you it's time some obscure moth species articles got some improvement :)

Paris has "grand correspondences" which means the lines link on the map, but in reality are a long way apart. There are many travelators (think flat escalator), and even had a "high speed" one, which was fun, but I think

Actually had the source code still kicking around on my laptop and it had a comment {ACSM Algorithm 415} which I think means, Communications of the ACM, Volume 14, Issue 12, Dec. 1971 pp 805–806 https://doi.org/10.1145/

I greatly appreciated the source code (probably FORTRAN) that I found in a university library in the late 80's. I seem to remember a book of microfiche with many basic algorithm's published on the basis that it was developed with

An inline svg in the parent page would trim it down to 87 bytes and replace <img> code, so even less than 87 in practice. <svg width="256" height="256"><rect width="100%" height="100%"

In transport academia "crash" vs "accident" is contested. I'm a "crash" person but I'm lampooned by "accident" people for it. It's the wrong word or maybe it doesn't matter. There

You may have local issues. I ran a series of iperf3 tests in a small but non-trivial network and was surprised. There was a 100Mbps switch that had been forgotten about. Also a wifi network running off a Power over Ethernet link which was 3

A run of ethernet cable costs money to install, but once done it uses no power, zero maintenance and gives you 1000Mbs or more full duplex reliably. (I'd discard Ethernet over Power before Wifi, cable is so much nicer).
