Why do you think software engineers never blame themselves and have such a poor opinion of their management?

Some do. Mine doesn't. I work in an Indianapolis suburb, all devs have their own offices with real doors, and we work at home about 50% of the time (in our large quiet houses). You can easily make 150k in this environment, where a 25

This seems plausible. But if this is true, then why haven't their been more successful suicides at this prison?

Agreed. We run at like 11% average CPU usage across 5k+ EC2 instances in AWS.

Yeah. We've tried this, also sharing typescript code, but we've decided that sharing the same business logic code everywhere just isn't worth all the extra work to do so.

Because if you have the option of getting the loan through Stripe or a bank that offers a loan with a regular APR, you may want to compare which is a "better deal".

Cool experiment. I don't agree with how you say that 10% is the Quoted Interest Rate, because Stripe isn't doing that. They are saying they have a fixed fee. "Interest rate" means it compounds.

You need a bigger house with an office. At my house, I use the finished basement as the office and it works very well.

In the same way that this OSS game engine is an advertisement for the developer who created it.

I made the same decision. My daughter is now 5, no social media pictures of her. I do share pictures of her to a few family members over Google Photos, and I keep track of her life in a private email account that I will give to her when s

You probably mean S&P index, which is what most index funds index against. Dave Ramsey recommends mutual funds with higher fees but that consistently beat the S&P 500. I have some money in some that I found like that, but still pro

Because there are still good developer jobs out there that give developers offices if they want? That seems to be to be a great reason to do your research. PS: if you're in Indy I am hiring, you will get an office.

There must be advantages that you had that others did not. My advice is to be happy for the advantages that you did have, and work hard to make it so that your children "have wealthy parents".

You can do it, but it will just be a lot harder to do. Personally I decided to stay in the Midwest and make 170k instead of 300k, but I have my family, and family matters more to me than an extra 130k in salary.

You're not going to have servers who are making $20-30/hour get upset and demand they get paid a stable 12$/hour.

Do most bosses make 10x the pay? I think that's highly unlikely. Maybe you meant CEO? I'm 90% sure that my boss makes about 1.2x what I make.
