My company has private offices for everybody who wants one, and little pod areas outside the offices where you can work together if you like. Teams who want to work in an open space can forego the offices and get a nice open space instead.

Downvoters care to explain? We always say diversity is good, but when somebody provides an example of why it is good, they get downvoted?

ctrl+tab switches tabs, most sites use mouse movement to show you the popups. Switch to keyboard shortcuts :)

Reading the linked articles above it says they used it to get into an invite-only site to figure out exactly who the cracker was. They don't say exactly why they want to do that.

I have also thought about this. If you have a serious mining operation ($$$$$), you have armed security.

Just want to say that your style of argument has me in awe. It's feels close to the patronizing line, but it's obviously not. I think you just assume the best from people and I really like that.

Run an ad-blocker, use Netflix/Prime and don't have cable, work from home if you really hate billboards or whatever. I see so little advertising these days that I don't care at all anymore.

To me, a netbook like this is similar to a REPL and works well for visualization tasks. You can figure it out in the netbook/REPL and then move it to "real code" once you've got it figured out.
