This is interesting. I wouldn't say that atheism "denies" that spirits exist anymore than it denies that Russell's teapot exists. Besides, atheism still provides plenty of room for spirits should there be any evidence for them (subjective o

Could you elaborate a little on that? I'm just genuinely curious about what the "additional runtime machinery" is, what assumptions they make about runtime behavior, how those assumptions break with the outlawed methods, and what those assu

If you are constitutionally opposed to developing for a platform where you’re expected to follow the advice of the platform vendor, the iPhone OS is not the platform for you. It never was. It never will be. Good lord, advice? He's making

Audio programming on Android is a particular pain point right now. There is no low level audio API and this makes it impossible to develop certain types of applications. Until Android can provide better audio support, the iPhone sound apps

I've found that the most consistent and prevalent thing about HN on April Fools' Day is the whining about April Fools' Day. It's like a rehearsed puppet show.

I think maybe you misunderstood what "easy" means in this context. It means casual and unrestrained in sexual behavior. In other words, your friend's quote confirms this. If you want more examples, try Chatroulette. Whether or not it's easy

The Android sound API is unfortunately very far behind the iPhone. There is as of yet no low level native API for sound whatsoever.
