Note that Racket besides threads also has places, which allows programs to use more than one core.

Note that several of these benchmarks use 4 cores on Python but only one on Racket. Time to revisit the Racket programs and use places. Look at the single core benchmarks to get a more 1-1 comparison.

Yes. There are general parser libraries available you can use to parse what-ever you like. Use the `parser` library if you want a yacc/bison style parser. Use `parsack` if you like parser combinators. Use `ragg` or `bragg` if you like

I expect Racket to be faster than CPython: https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/... Note that the old C runtime of Racket has been rewritten to use Chez Scheme. The work is not completely done -

FWIW the `control` packages contains versions of `dotimes` and `tagbody`. https://docs.racket-lang.org/control-manual/index.html Make an issue with regards to the filename inconsistency. I hadn't noticed before -

The modern way of converting numbers to strings is ~v. Unlike `number->string` (which is compatible with Scheme), ~v has all the features one would expect (min-width, padding rounding etc.).

The name "Racket 2" is just a code name. A name used to signal that we are talking a possible new direction (and not an immediate change to the existing racket). Wrt to supporting new versions of a language Racket has an excellent

Adding to Neil's answer: Racket is currently being relicensed as MIT / Apache 2. https://github.com/racket/racket/issues/1570 It's a slow process though. Not because people object to relicensin
