You should tell your users to unplug their Macbooks more often. If you leave them plugged in 99% of the time the battery will fail a lot faster. It should drain and recharge every once a while.

The flash ssd is not soldered in from what I can tell. It's probably like the MBA where it has some kind of connector and is probably the only user serviceable part.

Funny, my first post on hacker news was about programmer salary in Austria. I got offered a senior programmer job in Vienna for a fraction of what I'm making here in the US. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2473544 It's good to know th

Justin is fundamentally missing what people are saying the bubble is. From my perspective, no one is arguing that high tech and programming won't be more and more important in the future. "Anyone who tells you that you shouldn’t be in tec

I'm surprised Gmail doesn't have this type of functionality. It could try to keep track of what email lists it thinks you are subscribed to, and then let you manage them all from a single page (with links to external sites if Google can't r

I don't think it's hard for consumers to understand that the 3rd gen iPad is $400 and the 4th gen iPad is $500. Plus, if you just think about it from a feature checklist perspective, there will be a few clearly differentiating features that

Yeah, I have always been puzzled about that. I will post extremely relevant content to various sub-reddits and they never show up in new/hot/whatever. It's like insta-spammed somehow. I don't even bother messaging the admin.

This seems shady to me. I have apps on the iOS store as well (just like many of you) so I am aware of the emails you get from Apple telling you that your Apple developer account is going to expire. I have never heard of another developer ha

If the person in question was male the insults would just focus on penis size and sexuality. I agree with the previous commenter, I don't think gender is as big of an issue is people make it out to be.

Those problems do come up, yes, but they are never serious nor annoying enough to leave me searching for a better solution.

Especially since Skype gives you all of their functionality for free. I'm really wondering what advantage this has over Skype group chats (which is free).

To everyone asking "how do i buy this stock at IPO?"- please think long and hard about this. Do you really want to buy on day 1 when the scam underwriters on Wall Street have already sold the stock to their institutional investors at a 10-2

I am always curious why companies like this want to IPO. Do they really need the cash in order to further grow their company? Or is it solely for compensation of their founders & employees?

FYI, this is pretty easy in a country that has boiling hot water and steam right below the surface. There are a lot of buildings in Iceland that run on renewable energy, this isn't anything new or exciting.
