It's not just the airframe OEMs, but the entire supply base of aerospace manufactures has been going through a consolidation. Look at Rockwell Collins and Safran. But it's not all bad, most of this consolidation will lead to new o

Projects like this remind me of why we need to use public money for space exploration. The extreme constraints on space exploration drive new innovations and ideas that can flow down into our everyday lives.

It's been a while since I did pressure vessels but it's usually 2.5 times for proof and 3.5 for burst. Then with added safety you usually need about 4x to actually see a "planned" failure. This is most likely a construct

Did we all just as a society completely forget about Enron? Enron did rolling brown outs to help boost pay, and used the excuse of demand. Now PG&E has stepped it up by doing blackouts and claiming its because of fire risk.

I think lots of people say "ER" for "ED" Emergency Department became the most common term about a decade ago and Emergency Room faded from building guides and hospital documents.

Hell a good program could tell me how much time I have to address said emergency and then give me prices and time to locations for said emergency. I bet people would even be willing to take a bit of risk and drive an extra 10 minutes to sav

I think the bigger scam is how they break apart the hospital/doctors offices into separate companies. Now I'm not complaining how I go from one building to get blood drawn and a different building for the emergency department. I&#

But they aren't banks, they are just partnering with banks and putting a smooth veneer on top of old/greedy banks. The current trend seems very similar to when retailers all launched their "own" credit cards.

Fine, but when do we stop assigning money and drivers as co-founders? You can look at situation like Lee Iacocca did the same thing for Chrysler, but he wasn't labeled as a co-founder.
