The goal is to make sure you are gone before the title roll back around to the original titles. I worked in a aerospace firm and the took all the R&T (Research and technology because development was done by production) titles and changed every single one with innovation. Then about 8 years later, they rolled all of them back, killed all innovation titles and put R&T back into the titles. Net result, not much as most of the same people were in the same positions.
