VC funding is primary reason that reddit reached the current situation. Another VC funded alternative will follow the same death spiral. Link aggregators/social networks cannot generate VC expected returns without dying in the process.

Interesting idea. But not sure how much you can rely on results for B2B ideas (might be good for consumer facing apps/services) >> P.S. Registering is frictionless, just need username and password, email is optional, no email val

Disk usage history. Like the du command, except it shows the size of directories over time. Doesn't have to be precise, daily historical snapshots of directory sizes isfine. When your disk is almost full, you want to know which directo

Oh forgot to mention. It only works if you have custom view that's set to show 3 weeks :( Someone needs to make a chrome extension to shift Google Cal 1 week at a time. Cause the engineers at google sure aren't gonna do it :(

Just FYI Google Calendar web does allow you to shift your calendar view 1 week at a time (i.e. you can see 2 weeks from feb, 2 weeks for march). The UX for it is just super hidden and cumbersome. In the top left, there is a date selector. C

I think. This is so true. At certain point the software is done. And the only way to "improve" the software, is to just build adjacent software to enter horizontal or vertical markets.

I agree git is not user friendly. But there are 2 solutions, that are pretty low friction 1. There are great cheatsheets online that you can just print out and keep on your desk. 2. Write a user friendly cli wrapper on top of git (i think t

It would be same as the regular bidding process. Except that the gov't picks and pays for the contract (construction), instead of the local residents. For service and maintenance contract the gov't would subsidize the monthly fees

That's a good point. The law can have an exception for communities that get less than 5 bids. If that happens the gov't builds the infrastructure.

I think the government involvement should be minimal. They should create a law that requires bidding on local infrastructure, and enforce that the bidding process is fair, and the selection/voting process is fair.
