For those looking for a Wordpress alternative. I recently launched http://www.webhook.com . It acts like a static site generator like Jekyll and deploys static websites, but it allows for a pretty CMS on the backend that your cl

Just to add some anecdote to your post. I'd consider myself an expert at CSS, at a level where I can and have built very large frameworks with deep mixins, extends and variable use in Sass that need to be used across multiple projects.

So I've been playing a Pathfinder game for the last year, but a lot of are pretty interested in the "5e" changes. Basically, they simplified a lot of the tedious bits of 3.5 and removed the weird role concepts. The Basic rule

The big difference of course is that buildings built before 1979 are rent controlled. Had a friend have his rent go from $1800 to $3200 after his first year. This place is insane. I moved to sleepy Petaluma an hour north and have no regrets

There's no reason you can't have both the ease of static site generators and the non-coder friendlyness of a CMS. If anyone is interested I recently launched http://www.webhook.com as a way to have both words. Data is

Fantastic! Out of curiosity does anyone know of a similar service for Google Cloud Storage? Really bums me out that they don't break out bandwidth per bucket.

Hmm, if you mean forms on the front-facing website, currently no. You can inject data into your firebase following our json formatting guide though. If you go that route, the possibilities are pretty endless. http://www.webhook.c

As mentioned in my notes below we plan on open-sourcing everything and working towards that goal. For now, you can always simply deploy your build directory if you're working alone, but if you need something that automatically regenera

@zenarrow Yes, we think there's probably a separate product there as well. I'd always wanted to do something like the formbuilder but was usually trapped in more traditional dbs. Always got hung up on how you'd handle data mi

It's just a static site. Only the CMS is "dynamic" (though it itself is just a 10 line HTML page with a bunch of client side JS that talks to firebase). Saves to that CMS, which is hosted statically, then send a build notific

I tell this to people all the time. Usually my analogy is that working on the web now is like working on Television in the 60s. It's still early and while the medium might be defined, the delivery and the product never is.

For those interested in real world bitcoin ATMs and the often hilarious problems they can create, my friends at Tested.com made a great video. It's a logical idea, but I've never seen ATMs and bitcoin really working well together.

Just an option, but I built a CMS system[1] that actually generates static websites that comes with options for WYSIWYG or markdown. It's node powered, but if you're a php coder it might not be what you want, but we do use the Swi

Funny I think a lot of people would say the opposite. That they'd rather the grid code was in their CSS than in their HTML. Makes it much easier to change layouts if your grid code is defined in the CSS itself. Plus you get to manage t
