Heh. You might find my CMS ( http://www.webhook.com ) funny then. It's a CMS based on static-site-generator concepts... it deploys static websites for example and is easy to use and malleable. However it still has a firebase

If you're new to alfred and are looking for some suggestions on workflows for developers I put together a pretty in-depth blog post on it (and my other developer tools) over on my blog here. http://www.webhook.com/blog&

Sure. Most of woodworking is measurement of rectangles. That's pretty much my entire day in CSS. Instead of pixel pushing I push inches. Woodworking even has it's own box model. When I make a cut on a table saw I need to account f

I've taken it one step further and actually learned basic furniture carpentry. I'm primarily a UI designer by trade but I found the skills easily transferable. In an odd way it's no harder than the basic layout CSS I write ev

You might like webhook.com. We're launching in about a month. Basically, we're a static site generator with a CMS. You don't even use YAML or front-matter. Just build your forms with a local GUI, then pass yoursite.com/c

Have to agree with this. We built Webhook.com on top of Firebase, and it's been transformative. We built a CMS system similar to Wordpress that loads on a single cms.html page that loads off a static server. Its just, well, I never tho

Having set up something similar yesterday for webhook.com here's what I ended up going with. 1. Using zendesk for incoming emails and a knowledge base. 2. Installing tissueapp plugin for it to allow you to convert a zendesk email into

From my experience, a domain isn't everything, but it's likely the most important thing outside of your actual product and engineering talent. A name goes a long way and it's always worth paying for.

The problem with this kind of stuff is that it's a middleman business, much like selling a house. You're working with sedo, thinking they have control over the domain, but all they're doing is selling it for the owner. It

Funny you should ask. I'm building one right now. It'll be available next month. Basically it's what you'd expect from a SSG from a code standpoint, but deploys with a live CMS so that non-literate users can edit it. Det

Because people who know HTML and CSS don't know how to set up or manage a database locally. Even worse, they'd have no idea how to port that data onto a live production server. Firebase makes the install pretty painless. Our only

Not a great comparison. Ghost has an admin that's pretty nice. While it might be easy for all of us to jump into code to compose our posts, with Ghost you can jump in on your mobile device, make some edits and hit save.

Just as an aside. If you're looking for something built in Node that's more of a CMS, my Kickstarter for Webhook recently hit it's goal. I really like Ghost as a blog service, but you might like our system if you need to buil
