"vibe coding" is 20% initial prompting, and 80% doing exactly this (with more prompting). At some point we'll have to recognize that there are good and bad coders, and good and bad vibe coders.

People who do this are a minority. The vast majority have the masters only available on YouTube. I hope your “surely” was in jest.

Not by default. The normal spotify setting is to simply silently remove them. You have to turn on the “show unplayable tracks” preference to know that your playlists have been altered without your consent.

Probably pretty similarly to how the people who actually run the world superpowers feel about democracy: a nice illusion for those that live under the military dictatorships that are our current systems.

Quite the opposite. More people opted not to vote than voted for any specific candidate. I think that if the candidates can’t get a majority of the population to vote for them (not just a majority of the voters), the office should remain va

Static sites are not that popular, generally speaking. Anyone competent can put a static site up on CF pages or even a lame VPS and serve huge amounts of traffic just fine. That’s not what they do.

People prefer thin to flat. It spends more time in a pocket than on a table. People don’t really put their phones down.

I imagine it does precisely that when gzipped for distribution.

Wrong. Mattermost is dual licensed with proprietary licenses, requiring a CLA to contribute. Additionally another thing called Mattermost, made by the same people, isn’t open source at all, under any free software license.

The above post didn’t even load for me because I have all of their domain names DNS blocked at my router and in NextDNS on mobile.

Note that Mattermost is fake open source cosplay, and keeps important features in their non-foss application. If you want these table stakes features (like SSO or message expiry) you’ll find yourself maintaining your own fork or janky scaf

I bought some custom molded earplugs recently and I got 3 sets - two are completely sealed off and are very nice for when I wish for peace and quiet and don’t need to hear or speak. I also use noise canceling mode on my airpods pro quite of

If I were that concerned about noise from my computers, I would leverage the inverse square law and put them in another room and use long video and input cables.

I think they are doing this to protect millions of people from mass attacks once the nation-state attack gets RE’d in the next few hours/days and deployed by non-governments, much more likely.

It’s not unreasonable to blame google for this reliability issue, but this is also a little bit on the user who didn’t appropriately back up their important data to a different device/service/building/account.

There is no other way to publish on iOS, by design. If you want to access the most lucrative smartphone market segment in the richest country, you have to play ball with Apple. There is no other choice.

They enforce it when it suits them, and turn their head the other way when it increases revenue. I remember when Apple used to be insanely customer-focused. Now they’re just another big tech company with an industrial design ethos.

If you do this with Apple they will deny it as “too similar”. They have no obligation to sign anything, and they aren’t in the business of fighting city hall. Quite the opposite.
