We all really should be supporting the Teensy guy.

It reminds me of the Xbox One release. They basically had the market with the earlier release compared to Sony's PS4, but then pushed the thing as a media/entertainment glorified roku box not gaming console. They didn't car

Yes, they are optimized for the developer, not the end user. It's a terrible situation that repeats all too often. The developer makes a highly optimized native app that is a hit with the user. Now that it's a hit, the developer

Dapper can be a better fit depending on the scenario. It's dumb objects. You fill them yourself with actual SQL statements. There is no change tracker. You are the change tracker. The main issue with EF is ultimately there is an ex

It seems pretty common in software - engineers not following the spec. Another thing that happens is the pivot. You realize the scaffolding is what everyone wants and sell that instead. The scaffold becomes the building and also product.

Meh, performance-per-watt is not what everybody wants. I only want it in that it affords more raw performance by allowing more watts to be pumped through it without thermal overload. But if that can't actually happen then I'm st

> I wish it was a superset of JSON (so, a valid JSON would also be valid MAML), but it doesn't seem to be the case. What valid JSON would be invalid MAML?

I think a lot of people are missing this part, weighing things like 1 based indexing and curly brackets. All of that is trivial when you consider the Lua reference implementation. It is beautiful.

It's all pretty terrible. For problem (1) why does the language allow it? And why are they doing it this way? Did Apple not provide an official way?

Forcing TPM garbage was such an anti-user move, especially when it's not actually required and only gives a few basic features like windows hello. You block an upgrade over that? Beyond dumb.

This is really the crux of it, and I think a larger motivator than is given credit. If wfh = +2 Engineering -2 Management and you are weak on management, you RTO.

I had a very similar experience growing up, except the Amiga was a 500, replacing a Mattel Aquarius, and Deluxe Paint III just came out.

> Many left handed players reverse the arrangement. This is untrue and actually uncommon. Not every instrument is a guitar. Left handed cello players don't string their instrument upside-down. They play it right handed.

Of course, there are always alternatives, but as a professional software engineer there are times I need to use genuine Visual Studio for one reason or another. Why use Photoshop when Gimp is available? Fusion360 when there is FreeCAD? etc

Someone pinch me when VisualStudio runs under Wine/Proton with at least a silver rating. It is quite literally the only app keeping me on Windows.

I'm a gamer and love my AMD gpu. I do not give a shit about ray tracing, frame generation, or 4k gaming. I can play all modern fps at 500fps+. I really wish the market wasn't so trendy and people bought what worked for them.

Physical exercise does wonders for this. The results you achieve are a 100% determined by the time and effort you put in. It's hard to start, as its asking for more self-improvement, but if you can get this one thing, the rest fall in

I'm still salty about the lack of DisplayPort adoption by manufacturers. I have a new video card with DP 2.1 and new monitor (2025) with only DP 1.4. I'm forced to use hdmi if I want full bandwidth without dsc. A 2025 monitor wi

It's not what I do. I was making an argument. I do build accessible UIs. It's a requirement. My PRs wouldn't pass automation if they weren't.

Selfish reason for not building accessible UIs: it's extra work that doesn't justify the cost compared to the market share. We would all be better off spending that investment on improving the dozen or so screen readers instead of
