I agree with you but This is a consequence not an active decision. Digital advertising is highly profitable. If we want less ads and trackers, make that not so with a heavy advertising revenue tax. Wordle would never have gone viral with

Agreed, this article's premise is nonsense, while well written with some interesting history. The geniuses are making things that are now so common place that we've lost our wonder. Nanometer computer chips? That sounds like geniu

There is a certain group of people that are adamant that others obey a codified set of laws that they give lip service to. It is sad that the world has become such and openly hateful place. Part of the issue is that hate is very profitabl

Most companies suck at security. Most users suck at security. Convenience > Security. It is sad that SMS as 2FA account recovery actually adds an attack vector. It is less bad as an out-of-band check if you have a password authentication

I think complexity is definitely part of it but it is also mis-aligned incentives. The person running an assembly line has a vested interest in changing nothing . Everyone knows how it works and consistency sometimes is more important than

So you want a federal ban on all tax breaks? Government will always subsidize jobs and housing plus they will also prioritize external revenue sources like travel and tourism. Stadiums and convention centers and the like bring money into

This isn't about you specifically. They want old cars to get scrapped so the average emissions goes down even further even quicker. They won't want your car to end up in the hands of someone who will drive it A LOT . Each EV sold

I don't think it is the pay cut for most people. A lot of engineers would take 80% pay for a 4 day work week without losing benefits and insurance.

I agree that there is a significant monetary incentive to "move fast and kill people". In the end, paying out a few $MM to random families is financially minimal compared to the $BBB that are up for grabs. We will never really h

It is an unpopular opinion but we need to change the business model. Highly tax digital advertising so that subscription/patron business models have a chance and then we start to have more aligned incentives. Right now, digital adver

This is where automation will start. It seems trivial to have special on/off areas for driverless trucks that will just stay on route 40 or route 70 or w/e for 2000 miles. Then short range drivers will pickup/drop off trucks

Well, what I was proposing still gives you 70 home games in the regular season. If you home team doesn't make the playoffs, you'd end up with about 15 pseudo-exhibition for next year that would be even cheaper. It would also reduc

This is interesting but I think this fails to add the excitement that the other leagues have and baseball doesn't. It is true that the one problem is that there is this assumption that there have to be 162 games that all mean the same.

Maybe monetizing it turns it into a job instead of the gift it was. Not everything has to be a transaction. If I volunteer my time or donate goods, it is a gift. I don't waste my time worrying about how my gift is monetized.
