How to Design Programs [0] is a great example of computing as another pillar of a well-rounded liberal arts education. The Preface and Epilogue explain this perspective in more detail. [0] https://htdp.org/2023-8-14/B

I'd strongly recommend the Barbell Medicine podcast for those interested in evidence-based discussion about the role of strength training and exercise in general on health, longevity, and quality of life. Just scroll through their epis

Grip strength is a proxy for whole body strength. Training grip strength for health benefits instead of engaging in strength training is like turning a dashboard green instead of fixing the underlying issues.

Strength training strengthens more than just muscles. Bones adapt to the increased demand on them as well. There are even cardiovascular benefits, though it doesn't replace aerobic exercise.

Another thing to do is to binge lots of media in English at a level you can handle or slightly beyond that. It's the idea behind something known as Comprehensible Input. Combined with things like using frequency lists in Anki and worki

Spaced-repetition and active recall are underutilized tools that can increase your retention of material you deem worth remembering. Here's an example of how to use it to learn quantum mechanics, but you can imagine how it would transl

This might be a naive question, but rather than targeting WASM directly, why not target MLIR (used by projects like Mojo) and use LLVM to compile to WASM?

The argument for learning Rust before C++ is that the compiler will teach you the best practices you'd have to discover the hard way when programming in C++. If you have to work in C++, you can take that intuition with you. But if game

Haven't checked out MFP in a while but the perk of Macrofactor is that it calculates your TDEE for you and adjusts it as it changes so you know precisely how much to eat to maintain a given rate of weight change.

You'd be shocked at how many people start those sports obese and succeed. It just takes them longer. Yes your satiety can be fucked for a while but that doesn't mean that you can't learn to reach your goals anyways.
