I started scrolling the list at MDN, saw that there is <portal> now, then closed the tab. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/po...

My main objection to the newer EV sounds is that they are tonal enough to be recognized as a musical chord, but not a pleasant one. It’s either vaguely minor like a horror movie score, or a downright dissonant mash of pure sines.

Personally, I use KeePass and a self-managed password database. I look at it as the "something I have" factor being the database file itself, and the "something I know" being the master password that decrypts it. Then it

Noticed this on my bill this morning. The billing tier I'm currently using should include 4 TB/month outbound for free (I barely used 100 GB in June) yet I was billed at the $0.005/GB "overage" rate. Luckily I'

Here's something I just thought to try (although I can't do it myself; don't/won't own a smart speaker) -- If a person were to play something like "The Downeaster Alexa"[1] in the room, would that wake it

Broadly it could be called “a breach of driving etiquette.” If you are traveling straight in your lane at a steady speed, and somebody enters your right-of-way and forces you to brake or steer away from your intended path, that person is sa

Anecdotally, yes, it happened to me. An older extension spring setup where each end of the spring had a J-shape hook. The hook itself sheared off of the body of the spring and shot a ~2 inch steel boomerang across the garage. Fortunately my

That's true; with a cap of 250 Mbps for the DCP stream, and a 4K frame size of 4096 × 2160, that's ~28 bits per pixel (if the soundtrack is disregarded). There might be a small amount of subsampling or run length encoding going on

For straight-timed pop music, think about it like the markings on a ruler. Everything is based on a doubling or halving of something else. Pick some reference event, like how your foot would want to tap along with the song. If you listen, s

There was at least one called "Barcodes and More" offered by HP. I distinctly remember it being plugged into the LaserJet IIIP at my parents' house when I was much younger, but I don't remember anything about how/if

I can respect that. I think a lot of preference might boil down to the specific tool in question, along with when it was manufactured. Personally, I prefer Wiha screwdrivers far above any other brand, while Klein makes the best crimper tool
