What is horrible about it? It doesn't get in your way and allows you to post quickly. This is the only place I've engaged in online conversation for years and that's because it's just so quick and simple. Compared to forums and commenting o

Gap are a strange company. I personally love their cut of jeans so always buy mine from them. I'm in the UK and until this year , they did not have an online store for the UK. I can't believe how long it has taken them to do this

Don't know about you but I find Rob's screencast style really annoying. His jokes are not funny.

I doubt Amazon, Apple, NetFlix etc are going to give you their data.. they might if you paid them for it? Also the content providers themselves may have contracts with Amazon, Apple etc which prevents them from sharing that data with any 3r

I notice you're a recruiter in the UK. I'm not in London / SE - are you seeing many companies accept remote workers? (I'm in the East Midlands, currently a remote worker, and don't want to give that up)

Sounds good.. I've recently had the same idea myself and am considering doing something with it. I've just moved house though so I need to get that sorted out in the next couple of weeks but then get on with it.

I guess technical recruiters will never be any good until you find ex software developers to be technical recruiters - and I can't think you'd find many software developers willing to do that. I am convinced there are still many ways for re

You had clear evidence of why you hired #2 instead of #1 - your issue should be with your company not standing up to this and actually fighting and winning the case.

Lots of speculation on torrentfreak's part. I expect the reason for rejection is because Imdb want to keep the quality of their database high and have an approvals process for movies to appear on there - otherwise you'll get every amateur f

This. Right now, as a .NET developer myself, it is impossible to keep up with all the new frameworks that Microsoft are releasing.

A bit leftfield, but... Although it remains to be seen what will happen to languages - learn a second language (human) fluently. I always thought that being a native English speaker put me at such an advantage compared to people from other

I'm not sure most people would want their searching habits to be 'social' in that plenty of people want to Google for stuff in their own time without anyone else knowing about it.

Us developers get a hard on when we create these pretty urls, but I recently switched an app to have nice urls and not one user mentioned anything - to them, navigation is in the application, not the url. Better to keep the breadcrumb there

Do you have a predefined list of 'These are SEO sites which add no real value' sites which I can include by default?

I do wish there was a human curated search engine. Eg everytime you search for something and you find a useless spam site, you can flag it and then it's removed from the search. I'm sure something like that must exist already - does anyone

Except the connector for Outlook is an absolute load of crap, hogs bandwidth, regular hangs up and doesn't receive e-mail or won't send an e-mail and you have to restart Outlook. It's getting there but it's not there yet

Has some annoyances though - for example you can't send a batch file in an attachment. It's obviously a good idea for security reasons, but when you're a bunch of developers, it's kinda useful!

I'm a solid worker - just spent the weekend in the Bay Area for the first time ever and on the Saturday I worked for 16 hours instead of seeing anything. Anyone want to hire a solid worker for some freelance? :)

You could try - K9 Web protection But I am still battling this myself - discipline is what it takes. I'm travelling this weekend for work and stuck in a hotel with rate capped internet (0.5mbit). It's so slow for browsing it's unbelievable.
