Curious: How effective would it be to separate only the app store from Google/Apple, when it comes to this rating problem? Perhaps not even the infrastructure --- I'd imagine even just having an independent group of reviewers

Well it is also burning oxygen from air which you don't carry on the helicopter. Let me see how much high school chemistry I still remember... CO2 = C (12) * 1 + O (16) * 2 So 1 lb of C from fuel => 3.67 lb of CO2 out Suppo

Most probably because the shop invested heavily in specialized machinery and tooling and processes and know-how to optimize production of some niche products with relatively stable demand, until now?

My inner cynist asks: So when a company beats whatever targets set by analysts, the stock goes up. What happens if analysts deliberately set targets that they believe the company would have slim chance of achieving? What if only some (argua

That, however, does NOT favor the rich, mod cheating/forgery, which surprisingly does get caught, due to the widespread expectation of the system to be fair. And there used to be bonus points for STEM Olympiads, which had totally wor

As a reference: The Chinese equivalent, Gaokao [0], is notorious for its brutal difficulty, but also widely regarded [citation needed] as a great equalizer. To that end, high school students spend obscene amount of their class time doing te

Storage is cheap but GC is not. Source: I worked for Microsoft on C# projects where GC was constantly the bottleneck. Reducing number of exceptions (especially those used for control flow) helped.

I agree with the feeling, but I also see this being a debate between an opt-in approach (choose to use an error value with gradually more information enclosed) vs opt-out (throw an Exception, a la C#/Java, that by default stores everyt

Genuinely curious: From a purely economical / engineering PoV (i.e. conveniently ignoring politics for now), I wonder how much would it cost had it been built by Chinese instead? While China has a tried-and-true HSR formula, would the

Can confirm the sturdiness of Idasen. I used to be convinced that IKEA particle/paper-filled boards can never be as good as solid wood, but apparently the new leg/underframe combo worked wonders to prop up the whole thing, and it
