Absolutely. The market has a lot of unfortunate issues like that.

It may be an OS version issue. I'm not sure what the Droid runs but I am pretty sure apps aren't visible if you can't run them.

Awesome, good find. I'm too Amazon centric and missed it.

That sounds a little more reasonable. Hopefully they do a reprint, I am a big fan of those large format coffee table style book, presuming it's about something interesting.

Looks like it's available for ~$200 as well. That's still pretty pricey, but I bet the $2,500 is due to some weird pricing arbitrage or something, you see that with used books fairly regularly on Amazon.

Where does it lead? It seems to me that the only thing we can say for certain is that it leads to a lot of partisan hand wringing and rancor. That's a problem with our dysfunctional American system, not a universal constant.

I'll have to check to see if there are any interesting plugins that might work with Locale. This type of app has been one of my favorite things about Android. I can't imagine doing without it either.

Yeah, that seems like a fair assessment. One big win Locale has (unique at least as far as I can tell) is that it has a plugin API, so you'll find it can integrate with a few other apps. Using Locale has made a huge difference to me. My set

Have you used Locale? I've used it for awhile and haven't seen Tasker before.

Thanks, it sounds like something I'd go for. As it turns out, I actually already have a few books by David Weber on my kindle but they are from a different (or no) series.

Interesting. This is close to the Mars Express plan, although in their model they're sending automated factories and other material ahead of time in order to build up redundancy and reserves.

I see it come up pretty often in passing, sort of like the scenario this looks like, although I haven't read anything from this series. Do you recommend it? I'm always looking for new sci-fi.

There is a scenario which comes up somewhat frequently in sci-fi I read that I find really fascinating, but I've never seen anything use it as a primary story device. Essentially it's the notion that the first several waves of ships sent ou

I feel the same way about some of the bigger subreddits, but if you spend some time to find the good ones, the site improves dramatically. However, one unfortunate thing is that the programming subreddit isn't (in my opinion) part of the si

I'm not much of a gamer, so I haven't played any of the Thief games, but based on my understanding, it sounds like Assassin's Creed, which has been successful enough to get a sequel, at least. I can think of at least one other, Perfect Dark

I read it slightly differently. If you want to win, you need to do more than just practice the same amount as your opponent. If you missed 2 practices they didn't, you missed 4, the 2 you actually missed and the 2 you should be ahead of the

No, but it was nearby. I forget the name of the building but it was right across from the mall, near Hoshmand's I think. It was taller, brick, and had a big atrium.

I remember that building, I spent some time at the ATG offices in early 2001-3. Those offices were unreal. They had their own Starbucks in the break room. I was always a little surprised they stuck it out.

In my experience you need to use a third party vendor like SendGrid regardless of what cloud platform you use. This is probably increasingly true of traditional hosts as well.

Well, yes, that's probably ultimately true in a lot of cases, but if you approach it constructively, you have a much greater chance of success than if you just assume laziness.

I think it's mostly about risk aversion. I've seen the exact same thing trying to push SVN over VSS. No one honestly thinks that VSS is the superior product, but once you have 5 plus years of history with it, it's what you know, and no matt

I don't think ADO.NET belongs in that category. Even though it's not the primary method of data access in modern .NET software, to my knowledge everything else is built on top of it, and it's useful if you have some understanding of what's

Why not wait a few more years and buy Disney? There's a relationship there, and it gets them a whole range from content providers to broadcasters.

It's been awhile since I checked, but there was also a limitation that meant you could only associate a DevPay ID with an S3-backed AMI, ruling out the more useful EBS-backed AMIs.

Nothing has been said about the content of it yet, so it's a little early to speculate, but I suspect it's basically going to be some sort of music/comedy thing with them MCing. In other words, more of an anti-rally than a counter-rally.

I think I get what you are saying, and I don't think it's some sort of fun-defining elitism. There is a distinct lack of substance in a lot of the games, and I am really curious to see how the upcoming Civilization Facebook game turns out.
