Is the source open and inspectable somewhere before installing this on a machine?

Chemist warehouse has big signs up saying you'll be limited to buying a pack of 24 in Melbourne.

They do in NZ. Paracetamol is promoted as the safest, most well studied pain relief for short and chronic conditions. In Australia however they have just started limiting how many you can buy at a time for some reason while ibuprofen covers

LiteLLM proxy has to be about the worst codebase and performing Python code I've used in a long time. Incredibly poor performance, riddled with serious bugs and to be honest devs that don't seem to understand them.

I like the tiling concept but I don't see the source code linked, is this closed source? There's no way I'd run a terminal that didn't have publicly inspectable source, there's just too much that could go wrong.

I tried contacting the author to see if he would open source it but he's gone dark and doesn't seem to really exist on the Internet anymore. So I grabbed the source code and modernised it, added additional feature and it's wh

It might be crisp but everything in the UI will be massive leaving you little space to work with.

Did you try the MLX model instead? In general MLX tends provide much better performance than GGUF/Llama.cpp on macOS.

If you're feeling brave, I've hacked up a way to make proper 4K scaling work, I only have a 60hz screen so it will need some modifications for 120hz but - https://github.com/sammcj/force-hidpi

That's a 404, but if it only says 5120x2880 then you're not running full 4K HiDPI which would show 7680x as per the blog post.

5k might be a different story, are you actually running it at 5120p with 2.0 scale? You can get that from running `system_profiler SPDisplaysDataType`, if you are running HiDPI with 5k that'd show something like Resolution: "10240

The 4 values in MaxSrcRectWidthForPipe are sub-pipes within each display controller, not separate display outputs. Every external display controller on the M5 Max has the same pattern: sub-pipe 0 = 6720, sub-pipes 1-3 = 7680. A single-strea

Without it - running 2160p@1x results in very low quality text rendering on macOS.

Yeah that would work, that's just 2k HiDPI, not 4k HiDPI.

Unfortunately BetterDisplay cannot set HiDPI @ 4K on the M5 machines - that was the first thing I tried.

Hey, thanks I hadn't tried screenresolution but that seems to simply set the resolution and refresh rate without controlling the scaling which is what is needed for configuring the HiDPI mode scaling.

If you use the middle screen scaling you're given absolutely huge UI elements and it's the case for the inbuild 16" screen as well as external displays but when you get up to 32" displays it's almost comical how lar

I don't expect emails to get through to busy CEOs of huge companies like Apple unless you're really lucky and they make it through some automation, but I have dropped him an email just in case. I guess you never know.

Totally agree with those resolution suggestions. Personally I have a 32" 4k, I wanted a 5k or 6k back then (just too expensive) - but now I wish I had just got a 27" which is better suited to 4k - regardless it was a LOT better on

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to take some photos, it's not an easy thing to do accurately without a good camera setup, but I'll reply here after work if I get something setup and added to the post.
