Russia is not an enemy of the EU, although the NATO countries in Europe and Asia (Turkey) often treat it as such. EDIT: Maybe some minority circles in the Russian Federation want to make it an enemy of the EU or the rest of Europe, but most

I beg to differ. The more people from any single European country travel across Europe, the more they figure out that there are almost zero cultural differences between their countries. Things that people used to call 'typically Fren

My experience shows that good developers are usually (always?) open for discussion, no matter how many languages they consider themselves to know well. Needless to say, these people aren't nearly as many as we want them to be…

Biased, but try Bulgaria. IMHO currently only Bucharest can (somewhat) compete as a SW/startup hub in the region. HW is generally weak throughout the Balkans, though.

Just curious: how does the real distribution look like, from your experience? Do you have any graphs by any chance?

Although, to be honest, email standards are a complete mess in some regards and I suppose this make such an endeavour not as trivial as it looks on first sight. Just an example: try to create (and use) an IDN-based email address with non-AS

Thanks. It wasn't meant to be sarcastic although it surely looks like it when I read it now. I was genuinely interested to find out about it since it's a program I rely on and if it won't be developed further, I'll have

Someone else already addressed your second point, so I will give my two cents on the first one. I am perfectly aware of all this and I don't want to underestimate the importance of Islam in the Middle Ages. This was basically school ed

My suggestion would be to try and strengthen your region regardless or religion. The Middle East never was purely Muslim and I bet that nowadays there are a lot of atheists there just as we have a lot of them in Europe. Don't get me wr

Do you have any evidence that all the Middle Eastern scholars from the Middle Ages (no pun intended) have been practising Muslims? Did they work in complete isolation from Europe? How so? Also, what exactly do you mean by „the winner” in th
