If you have a select box of US states and you ship internationally, clearly no one put any thought into the form.

Disagree. I've never seen Amazon itself sell LEGO above retail price. They just tend to run out of stock, so they don't actually sell many sets. Third party sellers often do up charge, but that's basicaly like buying on eBay.

Aren't you really just saying that sometimes the juries get results that you wouldn't agree with? If you think something is "real doubt" and they don't, that's not an objective fact.

Forgot to mention, you also have to make the distinction between actual damages and trial damages. We've seen in many cases that damages were not as high as requested, and then were lowered upon appeal.

Remember that it's a settlement to avoid a trial. The settlement amount is going to be somewhere in between $0 and the real damages, modified by the odds of winning the trial. Additionally, the lawyers in a class action have a real a

When Judge Koh rejected the original settlement, she suggested that she expected a minimum settlement amount of $380 million, based on the previous settlements that had been done by other companies in this case. So the new amount probably d

Has anyone seen a work social network that wasn't a joke? We have one, and the only use is that your director/VP asks their org to follow them, and then posts various strategic stuff they want you to see. There's zero peer-

Yeah, I've seen what happens to taxis when there is no surge pricing. The dispatchers don't even pick up the phone if you call for a pickup, because there's enough business that they don't want to waste a taxi's ti

Yeah, we did UberX in Seattle and got picked up by a BMW 5-series. I don't think it was Black, but certainly better than expected.

I think people just want a decent car, not a luxury car. A $20k car from the last five years is perfectly sufficient. Uber Black is overkill for them, and the price is around 2.5x of UberX.

In a 30 MPG car, the drop in gas from $3 to $2 is a 3 cent difference per mile. UberX charges from $1.50 to $2 or so per mile. So gas price seems like a red herring to me.

Yeah, adding downtime between regions seems like it would mess with the data. Like if you have a single region with 40 hours of downtime, that's much worse than 10 regions with 4 hours of downtime. But represented as the same total.

I would expect it to go like electric cars. Maybe in 5-10 years you will be able to buy a high-end one, but the time to a majority having one will be double that, at least.

Practically speaking, I think the parts of code review that could actually be covered properly by a checklist could also just be done by software. The parts that are "fuzzy" shouldn't really be in a checklist at all.
