Same with using Bombadillo in a terminal (assuming a graphical environment is present and the user has set webmode to GUI).

I'm not sure how recipes, for example, would be an issue without inline images. You click (or otherwise trigger) the image link and look at the image (potentially in a new tab or window) then go back to reading content. It isnt hard or

There are a few gemini clients that support theming (inlcluding fonts, font sizes, text color for various elements, list bullet style, link color based on scheme, and page background color). This one comes to mind: https://github

The lack of inline links is less about aesthetics and more about predictability. When you request a gemini resource you know that there will be two things happening: a TLS handshake followed by, hopefully, the server response (hopefully wit

Yes, and industrial farming is a known major problem that wreaks havoc on the environment and in the case of animal farming at an industrial scale commits horrible atrocities. So yes, you are right... it is not just pulp trees at issue.

I can definitely add h/l into the next release :) As to the screen refresh, I am not in love with the current method for screen drawing and hope to have that incrementally improved over time. Thanks for the info/feedback!

Bombadillo dev here. When you say sluggish do you mean at the transmission layer or in the user experience? I'm working on adding in some concurrency for both screen drawing and requests that should eventually result in increased speed

There is currently a partial lobste.rs mirror hosted at typed-hole.org over gemini (as well as gopher). Gopher also has gopherpedia which mirrors wikipedia (many clients for gemini also support gopher). While I dont think mirroring should b

The author of Castor hosts an awesome finger server. Try finter://typed-hole.org (fingering the main host will give you a list of quirky options, including how to get the current server cpu temperature)

The problem is that sites fail without their JS. Oftentimes even if that JS is purely decorative and shouldnt be required for a site to function. I block all known google domains on my laptop and as a result am cut off from a great many sit

Having been involved in the VERY LONG conversation re: markup for gemini I can say there were a lot of considerations. There was definitely talk about whether a format fit into the protocol at all. The text/gemini format was landed on

Thanks for linking! More info can be found here: http://bombadillo.colorfield.space for those that are interested. A number of other clients also host at tildegit.org (a search for gemini will probably yield them).

That is how I felt when I discovered gopher and then went on to work on gemini. I can wholeheartedly recommend both communities.

In my experience the gopher community is very split on this concept with many people doing just that, but many others (myself included) wishing that gopher/web proxies and cross posting did not exist at all.

I would argue that the two editors are completely and totally different in focus, ability, and approach. Nano works for editing a quick file or writing an e-mail in Alpine... but is not really functional for full time code editing at all, i

Right? You'd think two weeks in Vim would have gotten at least `:vsplit /file/path` worked out... or at least `:buffers`. That said, he does not seem to be a terminal oriented guy so there are likely compounding effects here

Why would that be a crime? Intent is irrelevant. The crime is that the DMV is running shit code that is wrongly accusing people of crimes.

I couldn't agree more. HTML is so basic that you have no excuse to not do it in the ballpark of right (accessibility can be tricky and right is not always completely clear, but in 90% of cases you should have a good idea). Using a soli
