I think it also has an unused NVMe SSD Slot, which would be the equivalent of replacing the HDD in previous versions.

fwiw, this (Material Shell) feels very similar to that. I can have a tab for Thunderbird, Slack, and Jira in my "Communication" workspace, and Meta-A/Meta-D to swap between them. Each has a little tab in the top bar that high

I use Startpage for certain escalated queries as well. Irrespective of Startpage's motives, using them provides a layer of indirection between me and Google associating every search with a Google account.

Any sufficiently large and centralized infrastructure (like Cloudflare is becoming) has an incentive to engage in user-hostile behaviors. So far, I personally think most people would say they've been mostly benevolent. But they are a p

I don't want or need a Facebook account, and I don't want their software running on my machine. They've shown to be bad actors in the past with harvesting as much data as possible, even on people who don't have accounts.

My parents (who are both pensioners) switched over from Macs to Thinkpads with Linux. The only help I gave them was recommending compatible hardware. They've been using them full-time for the last year, and have been really happy with

That really does seem like whataboutism. No one is claiming Apple is perfect, but this is a marked improvement of apps requiring tracking to function.

Governments ought to be the place for this level of regulation, absolutely - But right now, governments aren't regulating. In the mean time, I'm glad Apple is. If Apple wasn't doing this, no one would be.

I use both in conjunction. There are Ansible modules to run terraform, for example. The biggest issue for me is that Terraform is still pretty bad at looping and handling dependencies sometimes. They have ways to try to work around it, but
