Check out Roc[0][1] by Richard Feldman; it's early-stages (perhaps earlier stages than Elm?) but from everything I've seen it looks a bit like a spiritual successor to Elm, though focused more on native applications (but still see

I've been a pretty strong advocate of the idea that analytics should always be minimal, 100% anonymous, aggregated, and open to the public - otherwise it’s spying. This is how we do analytics on our websites today[0][1], and how we pla

This is pretty much exactly what we've built at Sourcegraph. Microsoft had introduced (but pretty much abandoned before it even started) LSIF, a static index format for LSP servers which encodes in detail all possible LSP requests/

In the top right corner of the tooltip it will say either "Search-based" or "Precise" - in this case, you're right, we don't have the abseil-cpp repo indexed so it falls back to search-based as you describe. We

FWIW Sourcegraph has fully precise/semantic go-to-definition, find-references, etc. We use SCIP code indexers (a spiritual successor to LSIF, the Microsoft standard for indexing LSP servers)

I'm sad to see comments like this. When I was starting out years ago, my passion project ended up on HN with a very dismissive comment similar to yours - and it almost turned me off of my passion project of 4 years. I looked at their p

It's important to note that particulate matter and VOCs are not equal in danger and bodily effect. For some reason people act like they are all the same. It's like saying you got liquid in your eyes: the type of liquid matters an

Really putting the router in an aluminum enclosure/Faraday cage if you can is the only way to prevent this. Then just use the lan ports on the device, but also make sure the LAN cables are shielded because it could be using them as ant

If that happens be prepared for it to become the No Employ list. Employers run background checks via services, and those services will quickly integrate such a list as a flagged item on people.

Vulkan has a lot going for it these days, but IMO the problem with its future is that (a) it's too verbose to use without an abstraction on top and (b) vendors won't stop pushing their native APIs as a competitive advantage (Micro

Erector sets were incredible, as a kid I built RC cars out of those with some over-powered motors and such. Super fun times. I would guess Mindstorms gives more of an intro to programming, while Erector is better for mechanical engineering.
