In a world where there's only a few primitive types no one can share uuids or dates across the wire without both sides knowing which fields are dates or uuids ahead of time JSON is too simple we need more primitive types and an extensi

In Clojure it's common to develop your application by building it inside a running system Every REPL form sent recompiles the running program, I don't want that fast loop to be force lagged by the program checking types I'm m

This talk kind of alludes to the data driven stuff at the end: https://youtu.be/vK1DazRK_a0?t=774 It's a shame the code examples are just the fp and oop solutions not how it could look in a data oriented way

In the Clojure world we use clj-kondo, maps, and spec to solve these problems We get editor time feedback of mistakes with optional type hints + light inferance via clj-kondo and a data modelling system that we can export out as database sc

If you can develop your whole application in your REPL without restarting your application that's a tell that you have a good REPL In languages like Clojure and many other older languages this is the default method of development, it&#

Does this mean we'll be able to use VisualVM or Chrome's inbuilt debugger with PHP? The same way other GraalVM languages can? Also I assume the polyglot and native image features of GraalVM will work?

Most relational databases aren't relational enough For example in Drupal you can have a node table which is a foreign key relationship to many other custom tables In SQL I can't say get me all the nodes that have a start date with
