What's the alternative here? Make laws so that people aren't allowed to use AI to replace X job? If AI replaces my job, I'll accept it. I don't want to do a job that could better be done by a machine.

Markets don't reward greed. They reward behavior that grows the market. In the long run growing the market comes down to capital (as in factories, roads, and stuff), technology, skills, culture, and people.

Capitalism is free markets, private property, voluntary exchange of labor, capital accumulation, etc. What you're complaining about is greed. Greed has existed throughout human history (and probably before). Greed is found wherever the

If capitalism cares about anything, it's economic growth. It's unclear to me how half-assing two jobs is good for economic growth.

I don't understand why we need to put this guy in jail for 25 years. Similarly, Bernie Madoff, whose crimes were far worse, was sentenced to 150 years. For stealing money! Given that the risk of repeat offense is low, I just don't

In Girard's model of mimetic desire, there are three parts: the subject, the object, and the model. The subject sees that the model has the object and comes to desire it. There's something deeply true about this. But often, the th
