In most cases, you can send to a mailing list without subscribing, and people will include your email when they respond. I've filed multiple bugs this way. It was as easy as sending an email and attaching a patch.

Not great, not terrible; the language supports annotations which mean nothing to the compiler but which pre-processors can take advantage of, and there is a framework called ppx which you can use to write your own preprocessor. There exist

I reinstall every 2 years or so simply to re-evaluate what tools I have and decide if I really want them enough to install and configure them again. It's part of the reason I resist systems like Nix, Guix, or even dotfile management to

I do this as well with my wife of 10 years, although it's not something we agreed upon -- it just ends up happening in lieu of or in addition to a birthday/anniversary/valentine/whatever gift. Agreed on all points.

As a googler, I agree with this. Blaze itself is not that remarkable. What makes it good is that it is the only tool you need to use to build anything, in any language, in Google's monorepo, and that build failures are (usually) aggres

It's really nice to have these discussions in person with the person sitting next to you. That's probably what I missed the most during the pandemic--impromptu code/design discussions. Screen sharing works but it's less

The German chain (I think?) Espresso house has always served me a decent Americano, and they're pretty widespread in Europe. The worst espresso (machiatto) I ever had was from Fabrique in Stockholm. It tasted like straight vinegar.

If you run hotter, wouldn't you feel less hot? Since your normal temperature would be that much higher than the ambient temperature. At least, when I have a fever I feel cold, even though I'm hot.

While I agree we should not assume a cdn is necessary, as far as user traffic is concerned, not all seconds are created equal. Those pesky users have a habit of making requests at the same time, like they're in cahoots with one another
