The rear ones actually. If your rear end slides out its a lot harder to recover than front end slippage. Many people mistakenly put the best tires on the front.

They only offered CP/M after Kildal threatened a lawsuit, and at 3x the price. I think it was fairly certain which would win by IBM. That and DOS was mostly compatible, famously porting Visicalc only required changing 3 bytes.

Unlike with upswings, down swings come with margin calls which can cause downward spirals. The market can certainly get irrational on the upswing as well but the feedback mechanisms are more muted and slower.

The earth doesn't get a whole lot bigger, but consider that 100 years ago sand was useful only as fill. Now there is a trillion dollar industry turning it into microprocessors. Value does not derive solely from raw materials.

I think that's going a bit far. We'd be using BSD, or a commercial Unix like Solaris. Mercurial, SVN, and god forbid even CVS would still work for most projects.

Its more like leasing a room knowing it was Dexters kill room. That said I'll go no further justifying US pot laws. But the failure is in the severity assigned to the "crime", everything that follows is rational if you acce

The rationale in the US law is that the crime is an equal moral failing to murder. That may be irrational to you and I, but that is the law. Just as being an accessory to murder would be considered "very bad" so too would support

A lot of people don't realize that Microsoft actually had two antitrust agreements. The first in the early 90s was a slap on the wrist (so much so that most people don't even remember it). Gates even mocked it. That culminated

DMCA doesn't require proof. The fact you are attesting under penalty of perjury is enough. If they contest it then your only remaining remedy is a court order and that would require proof. The wayback machine may be sufficient.

Everything lives on top of win32. Even UWP is a wrapper around win32, if you look at the modules list you'll see gdi.dll in the list. In a sense the rest of these frameworks are all just libraries. You can choose the one that makes y

A consistent theme throughout history is the need for a "story" justifying power. It doesn't need to be perfect but it needs some grounding. A King is thought to simply have absolute power but this isn't true. The stor

You'll pay more for the highest density chips, but there are back-planes that support more of the lower density parts. I buy the raw chips in reels not DIMMs. The $7k was based on my costs.
